Follow-Up & Outreach Operations
After a pitch is sent, the task is to keep its status clear without treating silence as permission to keep contacting a brand indefinitely. This collection helps creators track what was sent, decide whether a relevant follow-up makes sense, and route a meaningful reply to the right next step. It covers pre-deal outreach, not payment collection or post-contract delivery.
Track the Outreach State
For each brand, record the contact and channel, original pitch, send date, any reply, and the next action you have actually chosen. A brand deal pipeline tracker can provide a structure; fields to track for each pitch helps distinguish a useful record from a list of names. Keep the source of each contact and avoid duplicate approaches from multiple channels.
Follow Up With a Reason
Check whether you have new relevant information, whether the brand has published instructions, and whether a prior reply asked for a specific action. How to follow up with brands and the follow-up template are starting points for a brief, respectful message. Do not infer interest from an open notification or send repeated copies of the same pitch. If there is no appropriate next step, close or pause the lead.
Route the Reply
A request for a revised pitch belongs in Pitch Planning & Copy. An unexpected sender or unclear request goes to Inbound Offers & Verification; a concrete budget and scope go to Offer Evaluation. Once a partnership is agreed, hand off to deal tracking instead of keeping it in the outreach queue.
